His comedies in particular are very well done, they all have a great heart, with loveable characters, and a strong story pushing it forward.  This film is no exception. Using the graphic novel art as a framework for the story was really cool and a unique device, and I enjoyed that creativity a lot. The story doesn't go where you think it will, and while some of it is a little silly, it's also funny and heartfelt. I don't think many people will have a chance to see this, and I'm happy I was able to give it some support. This is like if The Station Agent had characters that were not boring and actually compelling. Heartwarming and strange and funny! Pacing a little slow, but gentle and emotionally satisfying with great performances by the two leads. Also it's a love letter to really good pizza, which never hurts. Very good writing. It has a natural tension without being overly melodramatic.
